  • Symposium: Gould Auditorium, Marriott Library; 10:30 am – 4:00 pm
    Faculty, staff, students, local government, and environmental organizations discuss topics related to the environment and sustainability:
  • 10:30 am – Introductions and Coffee
  • 11:00 am – Clean Air
  • 12:15 pm – Lunch
  • 1:00 pm – Conservation
  • 2:15 pm – Mingling and Coffee
  • 2:30 pm – Steps forward for the U
    • Methods to promote sustainability: Dialogue, Community Action, Systems Revival
    • Topics: Organic Gardening, Alternative Transportation, Energy Use Reduction, Environmental Education & Stewardship, Social Justice, Urban Ecology, Climate Stability
    • Film in the evening at Post Theatre: Chasing Ice; Post Theatre, 7:00 pm

Tuesday 16th

  • Guest Lecturer and FilmTheatre, Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA)

Talk at 5:30 and Reception at 6:45

  • Earth Day Celebration: Union Plaza; 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
    • Tabling for: Departments, centers, programs, student groups, local government, environmental organizations, and businesses with sustainability initiatives.
    • The Spoken Word, Community, and Culture: Narratives on Sustainability and Nature
    • Library Book Giveaway, Slack lining, street performers
    • Wholesome/sustainable food stands and cooking demonstrations
    • Bike collective basic bike repair/maintenance workshop
  • Film: Chasing Ice; Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building, 3:00 pm

Friday 19th

Bring electronic waste to the University Services Building (1795 S. Campus Drive)!

Saturday 20th

  • Environmental Stewardship Project: Environmental Action Team 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
